About the Founder

Meet Morganne Aaberg

I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Coach, and podcast host with over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry. My mission is to help people get stronger—not smaller—so they can live healthier, more independent lives. As a group fitness instructor, I focus on building muscle because it’s closely linked to better aging, long-term health, and even brain function (Xu et al., 2022; Tessier et al., 2022).

Before becoming a full-time coach, I spent years in academia studying how people learn. I completed doctoral-level coursework in quantitative, qualitative, philosophical, and historical research methods, earning top marks in each. I also worked as an editorial assistant for a research journal, where I evaluated submissions for methodological rigor and clarity and prepared accepted articles for publication.

That experience shaped how I approach fitness and education today—with a deep respect for evidence, critical thinking, and clear communication. A research-loving hype girl at heart, I combine nerd-level curiosity with real-world coaching to help people feel confident, capable, and empowered in their own bodies.

As host of the StrongHer Collective Podcast and author of the StrongHer Collective Substack, I lead conversations that redefine fitness for women by shifting the focus from shrinking to strengthening. Drawing from both my research background and coaching experience, I bring a critical eye to fitness trends and ensure every episode is grounded in credible, peer-reviewed evidence. The show explores science-backed topics like resistance training, fitness myths, mindset, and more—all with the goal of helping women live vibrant, adventurous, and independent lives.

When I’m not on the clock as your go-to hype girl, you can find me outside with my husband and our two Australian shepherds. Whether I’m scrambling up a mountain, skiing down slopes, or swimming in the sea, I’m happiest when I’m moving my body in nature.
